Terms of Service

The service

Pet on Canvas is an art collective that creates custom digitally hand-painted pet portraits from customer-supplied photos. By placing an order on petoncanvas.com, you agree to these terms. If anything here is unclear, contact us before ordering.

Orders and payment

Orders are placed through our website and payment is processed securely by Stripe. Your order is confirmed when payment clears. Prices are listed in USD. All prices include the artwork itself — canvas prints include printing and standard shipping to your address.

Delivery timeline

Standard: Your digital proof will be delivered within 3-5 business days of order confirmation.

Expedited (+$30): Proof delivered within 1-2 business days. Select this option during checkout.

Canvas printing and shipping: After you approve your proof, canvas prints typically ship within 3-7 additional business days. International orders may take longer.

These timelines are our standard targets. Occasionally, complex portraits or high order volume may add 1-2 days. We'll notify you if that happens.

Revisions

Every order includes one revision at no charge. When you receive your proof, review it carefully and let us know any changes you'd like — adjustments to colors, background, composition, or other details. We'll make the changes and send a revised proof. Additional revisions beyond the first may be subject to a fee depending on the extent of changes requested.

Satisfaction guarantee and refunds

We stand behind our work. If you're not satisfied with your portrait after the revision process, contact us and we'll work to make it right. In the rare case where we genuinely can't meet your expectations, we offer a full refund. Refund requests must be made before the final digital file or canvas print is delivered.

Because portraits are custom-made to order, we cannot accept returns on canvas prints once they've been produced and approved by you. If a canvas arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days with a photo and we'll reprint and reship at no cost.

Cancellations

You may cancel an order for a full refund if you contact us before an artist has started work on your portrait — typically within 12 hours of order placement. Once work has begun, cancellation is not available, but our satisfaction guarantee still applies.

Photo requirements and your responsibility

You are responsible for uploading a clear, high-quality reference photo. The quality of your portrait depends significantly on the quality of the photo you provide. We recommend photos that are:

  • At least 1000 pixels wide
  • Well-lit with your pet's face clearly visible
  • In focus — avoid blurry or heavily filtered images

If your photo is too low quality for us to work with effectively, we'll contact you to request a better one before beginning. This may affect your delivery timeline.

By uploading a photo, you confirm that you own or have the right to use that image for this purpose.

Intellectual property

When your portrait is complete and paid for in full, you own the artwork and may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes — printing at home, sharing on social media, giving as a gift, and so on. Commercial use (selling prints, licensing the image, etc.) requires written permission from us.

Pet on Canvas retains the right to display completed portraits in our portfolio and marketing materials. If you'd prefer we don't show your portrait publicly, let us know during the order process and we'll exclude it.

Limitation of liability

Our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits your consumer rights under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The date at the top of this page reflects when they were last revised. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
